Myrtle House Ministries
Formerly: Hadassah House Ministries
Myrtle House Ministries
When we started this nonprofit, we expected bumps and hurdles, big and small. What we did not expect was that a name spoken to Heather from God, “Hadassah”, would be challenged (legally) by another much larger organization. This organization has a trademark on all things related to Hadassah (including Esther, the Persian interpretation of Hadassah) and therefore we needed to change our name. As we were faced with this obstacle, we prayed and sought help from our attorney and sponsors. As a result, we are moving forward as Myrtle House Ministries! The name Hadassah means Myrtle and so we only saw it fitting to keep with our spoken name and continue our mission.
Myrtle is a branch that symbolizes recovery and the establishment of God’s promises. As we researched new names, we came upon this verse in Isaiah 55:11, ‘So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.’ We know God has His hand on this ministry and we plan to continue our mission with the name Myrtle House Ministries.
It will take time to switch everything over and to finalize approval on the federal level, but we hope to have this done as soon as possible. As a nonprofit one of our missions is to be as transparent as possible with everyone involved. Starting a nonprofit involves a lot of work and to do it twice is frustrating, but we know it will be worth it all for these young people in Malawi to receive ongoing education and to learn about and spread the love of Jesus. Again, we are running this to the best of our abilities and cannot always control things that are thrown our way, but we will always pray for answers and a clear path forward.
Thank you for your continued support of Myrtle House Ministries! We are so grateful for this amazing journey!
