Our commitment to the kids

We believe providing the best possible atmosphere, the best possible education and an amazing bible/worship/prayer experience will help each child reach their God-given potential. Our goal is to focus on the whole child and meet them where they are. We do this by having a very present leader who, does background checks on the kids and visits them 1-2 times per week at school. He also shares the letters, pictures, and prayers that our sponsors send. He leads them in bible study every Saturday, takes them to buy necessities, and takes them in for medical care as needed. He plays the role of a good and present father. We have university leaders (also in our ministry) who are very involved, helping the younger kids to acclimate to their new surroundings and praying with them. The children in our program have created a family-like atmosphere and are happy, healthy, and thriving. We also extend support to the families and caregivers of the children, by checking in on them and providing extra groceries, support services and sometimes piglets or chickens for them to raise and generate income.

MHM has designed its programs to address all forms of poverty. We hope that with the tools provided and their growing relationship with God, these children will be the ones to have a huge impact on their communities and country as a whole. We pray that the foundations we are laying will be built on for generations and that, every day, people come humbly beside us on this mission in which God is at the center.

In the beginning, we wondered how we would find kids in need. However, within the first few months of operation, we have not had to “search” for kids in need. They have found us. Since we started Myrtle House Ministries in December 2020 we have been led to support any child that comes across our path, regardless of sex, age, or parental involvement. Today we serve over 70 kids.

When you sponsor a child your contribution covers, not only tuition, but also: consistent food, medical fees, uniforms, socks, shoes, school supplies, entrance exams, Community service projects that the kids participate in, transportation costs, weekly bible studies, and more.

Myrtle House Ministries has many levels of sponsorship. Donations are based on annual school fees and current rates of exchange {Kwacha to Dollars}. Donations are collected per trimester for primary and secondary school and per semester for university.

What People are saying…

“Sponsoring Deborah has been a very fulfilling experience for me and my family. The personal connection we are making with her is extraordinary as she is now part of our lives. Knowing we have had an impact on her life and have given her hope and love for her future is the best heartwarming feeling we could have imagined. We look forward to our growing relationship with Deborah and Myrtle House Ministries.”

“Over the years my husband and I have donated to a few different organizations that help provide an education to orphans in Africa. It wasn’t until our hearts were connected with the girls through Myrtle House Ministries that we really felt connected and saw firsthand how our donations & in this case, sponsorship immediately impacted the life and education of a child. Since we started sponsoring and praying for Emma, she has become part of our family. We have a new daughter and my daughters have a new sister. And more importantly, Emma has new hope and future in fulfilling her dream of becoming a teacher and providing for her grandmother. The personal and godly connection that the faith leaders of Myrtle House Ministries provide through this sponsorship (pictures, videos, letters, text updates), has brought the most fulfilling experience for my family. we know this investment will have an eternal impact and we look forward to watching Emma grow into who she was created to be without the barrier of a lack of education on her life and with the love of God surrounding her.”
