Our commitment to the kids
We believe providing the best possible atmosphere, the best possible education and an amazing bible/worship/prayer experience will help each child reach their God-given potential. Our goal is to focus on the whole child and meet them where they are. We do this by having a very present leader who, does background checks on the kids and visits them 1-2 times per week at school. He also shares the letters, pictures, and prayers that our sponsors send. He leads them in bible study every Saturday, takes them to buy necessities, and takes them in for medical care as needed. He plays the role of a good and present father. We have university leaders (also in our ministry) who are very involved, helping the younger kids to acclimate to their new surroundings and praying with them. The children in our program have created a family-like atmosphere and are happy, healthy, and thriving. We also extend support to the families and caregivers of the children, by checking in on them and providing extra groceries, support services and sometimes piglets or chickens for them to raise and generate income.
MHM has designed its programs to address all forms of poverty. We hope that with the tools provided and their growing relationship with God, these children will be the ones to have a huge impact on their communities and country as a whole. We pray that the foundations we are laying will be built on for generations and that, every day, people come humbly beside us on this mission in which God is at the center.
In the beginning, we wondered how we would find kids in need. However, within the first few months of operation, we have not had to “search” for kids in need. They have found us. Since we started Myrtle House Ministries in December 2020 we have been led to support any child that comes across our path, regardless of sex, age, or parental involvement. Today we serve over 70 kids.
When you sponsor a child your contribution covers, not only tuition, but also: consistent food, medical fees, uniforms, socks, shoes, school supplies, entrance exams, Community service projects that the kids participate in, transportation costs, weekly bible studies, and more.
Myrtle House Ministries has many levels of sponsorship. Donations are based on annual school fees and current rates of exchange {Kwacha to Dollars}. Donations are collected per trimester for primary and secondary school and per semester for university.

What People are saying…
“I cannot say enough about the heart and soul of this organization. Myrtle House Ministries cares deeply for these kids. They are not a massive conglomerate that takes donations and spreads funding around to various programs. They take a hands-on approach to identifying needs and making change one child at a time. Being a sponsor with Myrtle House Ministries means connecting with a specific child in need, and completely changing their life and trajectory through education, food, clothing, and ministry. Sponsoring Atina and Shalom has been such a gift for our family! We love having the chance to interact through photos, letters, and videos, and love seeing their minds and bodies flourish, while their hearts continue to grow for Jesus. Highly recommend!! I trust the leaders of this ministry implicitly and believe that 100% of what we give goes to helping these kids. DO IT, SPONSOR TODAY, YOU WON’T REGRET IT.”

“I am immensely blessed for the opportunity to walk alongside of Myrtle House Ministries in support of their mission and vision to reach the youth of Malawi! Through spiritually led education and development, MHM is leading a campaign to bring salt and light to a complicated region and people group. I was first introduced to Amy and her team at Myrtle House Ministries through an adjacent ministry partner. From that moment, I felt a strong conviction to partner as a sponsor. I had a life-changing visit to Malawi last year and I was witness to the beauty and complexities that exist in this emerging nation. According to the United Nations Population Fund, roughly 51% of the population of Malawi is under the age of 18. Many children suffer in Malawi. The heart-wrenching sights of orphans, teen mothers, family separation, and men who reject stepchildren are all examples of the battles that are being fought. Though these situations exist, Malawi is a vibrant and hopeful nation. Myrtle House Ministries is providing an immeasurable amount of hope, one child at a time! It has been an honor to be a part of this important organization. I can honestly say that my life has been enormously enriched by witnessing the progress that all of the MHM kids have made. I’d encourage anyone who is thinking about sponsorship to do it! No amount of support is too small. I would like to end by sharing a line from a letter I received from a sponsored child, Matthew. “…I love you so much and I will not forget what you are doing for me…May God be with you always.” Having an eternal impact on a child is a gift from God. Thank you, Myrtle House Ministries, for obedience to your calling.”
